Today in reading we are studying Pacific Island stories. Peter and I chose to do a story on 2 atolls called Fakaofo and Nukunonu. We made a slide show about Hemoana and Fenu. Fenu is trying to steal the freshwater from Hemoana.
I am a Year 6 at Good Shepherd School in Auckland. I am in Room 6 and my Teacher is Miss Down.

love poster
Today in R.E I made a love poster, showing the word love. Then we decorated it. We did this for R.E and we got to choose what word to do it on. The word was about the 10 commandments and how God loves us.

Guard of honer
Today we held a Guard of Honour. we all lined up down the front of the church going down the street as the hearse came down. This was for a Good Shepherd priest called Monsignor Pat Ward who had passed away. The Guard of Honour is where when the hearse comes down the road and we bow our heads.

Today I'm in room 7 and its Saint Mary MacKillop feast day. we made dot arts going round in circles with Mary Mackillop in the middle. I went in to Room 7 with Mrs Vergis. my partner is Leo G.

Animal Classifications
Today in topic we learned about how animals are identified. Animals are either vertebrates which mean they have a spine or invertebrates which mean they don't.
Invertebrates are animals like jelly fish, crabs, insects or octopuses.
Here are the 5 different types of vertebrates:
Fish: god fish, snapper, fish, clown fish
Amphibians: frogs, salamanders, toads
Mammals: cats, dogs, horses, monkeys
Birds: parrots, kiwi, seagulls
Reptiles: snakes, crocodiles, lizards
hauora
Today in R.E we are learning about hauora. Hauora means health. It was about who can help, ways we can help others and ways other people can help if we are hurt mentally physically or socially.
